Miller, locared 38 km south-west of the Sydney CBD, is part of the local government area of the city of Liverpool. It is bordered by Cartwright Avenue in the north and east, Hoxton Park in the south, and Banks Road in the west.
The area’s development started in the 1960s as part of the Green Valley public housing estate. It was named after an early landlord in the Green Valley area named Peter Miller.
The suburb has a number of good schools (Miller College, Miller Public School and Miller Technology High School) and childcare centres (Miller Community Preschool), making the area an ideal place for growing families.
Sports and recreation facilities also abound. Michael Wenden Aquatic Leisure Centre is a state-of-the-art aquatic, fitness and sporting facility, serving not only the local residents of Miller but also the whole of the Liverpool region. It is home to a number of parks, Ron Darcy Oval and Lady Woodward Park.
The local shopping centre, Miller Shopping Centre, has a Woolworths, Aldi and a wide range of specialty shops.
Transport NSW offers regular service to and from the suburb. Route 802 and 804 from Parramatta to Liverpool have stops in Miller. Route 803 runs from Miller to Liverpool via Cartwright.
